BIZARRE THINGS - Dead Man Standing

It is now time for this random intallment of 'BIZARRE THINGS'.
First up is "Dead Man Standing". A Puerto Rican man was granted his last wish to remain standing even in death. A funeral home used a special embalming treatment to keep the corpse of 24-year-old Angel Pantoja Medina standing upright for his three-day wake. In this photo you can see him standing happily in the corner at his wake...appearing morbidly more like a mingling guest; rather than the deceased. The story did not state if there were any other post mortem plans for the cadaver. And I couldn' t help but think that he'd make a very realistic additon to the family's 'yard haunt' this Halloween.

Next up is the "Freakish 4 Four Eared Feline" from Chicago. The cat, named Yoda, was adopted by a family from Downer's Grove, IL. Admittedly, it was not love at first sight the family had for this animal oddity. But they felt sorry for the kitten who was being referred to as 'Beelszebub' and 'Devil Cat'. It seems the kitty's eerily over-abundant ears has turned this freak of nature feline into a full fledged celebrity. http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/26345150/

The corpse in the corner at the wake, somehow that's just wrong.

Just a few minutes ago I just did some cat whispering with a cat that is my gray cat's evil twin. It was the first time that I have pet her. Up close she was meowing, did some hissing, and had some strange breathing patterns--almost like a respiratory problem. I'm not sure if it's a good thing to befriend the "Evil Cat' but i did it and she seemed to like it (my cats did not like it!) Her photo is on my FLICKR page. So funny that I come here and read this article on that Devil Cat right now. That cat rules! I'd make it an internet star if I owned it. :)

Ah...Lisa...I knew only you could appreciate the standing corpse the way I do...ha! And yes Cat...the synchronicities continue to swirl around us do they not? Maybe we have some latent powers that when combined can become a force to be reckoned with...like Wonder Twin powers! ;o) Also...beware a truly evil cat. I had one in college and all I can say is...be afraid, be VERY afraid! ;o)
