Tales of Mystery and Madness
If you haven't been introduced to the fiendishly fabulous artist Gris Grimly...then there is no time like the present. This guy's artwork is simply sinister, and the detail is sublime. His books would make a great addition to your Halloween collection. You DO have a Halloween book collection don't you? Well I do, Children's Halloween Books to be precise. The first book I bought that introduced me to his art was "Boris and Bella". Grimly illustrated this book and admittedly, it was the illustration that prompted the purchase. Grimly has a whole slue of wonderful books to choose from. The second book I bought was "The Legend of Sleepy Hollow" from the imagination of Gris Grimly. Any telling of the Sleepy Hollow tale is a keeper in my b
ook, and this one is chock full of his terrific illustrations. Next on my list is "The Dangerous Alphabet" which I thought I already owned but cannot find on my book shelf, and "Edgar Allen Poe's Tales of Mystery and Madness". A Google search of his images yields an array of his macabre, yet whimsical and wonderful style. Learn more about Gris here: http://www.madcreator.com/index.cfm

He will be at screamfest at the Wyndham Resort Orlando, Fl this weekend Oct. 17-19. www.spookyempire.com. I have a pic of Gris and Voltaire standing together from screamfest '06
Howdy Hilda and Mr. J. Web...as a matter of fact, I JUST saw that Gris was going to be there. I haven't been to that before. Is it kid friendly by chance? Or should the chitlins be left at home? I wonder if they sell the books there at all. I'll go check out your pics. I love how eccentric he is with his sideburns and suits...ha!
Boris and Bella is one of Grace's favorites... mine too!
