My Art - Beware of Spooks!

Just a quick post tonight as we are heading back home to the heat of Florida tomorrow. I am so very sad to leave the Autumn. I am more determined than ever to move to where there is a change of seasons. This has been a wonderful trip and renewed my love of the season. Today as we stopped in the small villages in Vermont to explore and take photos....I was met at each new town by the 'cawing' of crows. It was overcast today and very cold, my fingers began to ache as I struggled to hold the weight of my big lens and camera in that frigid air. I'm such a lightweight when it comes to the cold. And the overall mood of the melancholy gray sky juxtaposed against the brilliant color of the fall foliage was that perfect mix of Autumn that I yearn for all year long. And the crows, they kept beckoning to me to stay. I want to stay. And they said that I belonged there with them. I want to live in perpetual Autumn. I love New England this time of year.

So today's image is one that I created as a make shift poster for an annual event that is held in Salem during the month of October called 'The Festival of the Dead". It celebrates all the traditions associated with Hallowe'en and our remembrance of souls departed. I had taken a photo of a strange skeleton man decoration that I had purchased and then I played around with it until I had a poster. This event is put on by local witches in Salem. This poster is not affiliated with them or their event other than my conceptualization of the flyer for the event. I like to assign myself little projects here and there for fun.

Hope everyone had a wonderful Fall weekend. I will be posting pics of our trip soon. Sorry that I have been unable to keep up with comments this past week. Once I am home and settled in, I look forward to catching up on your blogs.

Spooky poster! I really do love florida my dad lives near Sarasota.
We considered moving there a couple years ago. I would miss the seasons if we had. When we get a foot of snow I do dream of sunny Florida! :) Becca

I agree...I could also live in perpetual autumn.

No other time of the year is better.

Love the poster. Can't wait to see your pictures. I say, do as the crows tell you....stay in New England! LOL - but it does get colder...so your fingers will really be achy come December!

Yeah, we Halloween folks need a town that is New England like, but without that pesky winter! Autumn all year long? YES PLEASE!

Thanks you guys! We made it home safe and sound. We are all sad to be back here though. A wall of heat and humidity just slapped us in the face as we exited the plane...UGH!

Yes, I have to admit to thinking about moving to Fla. or somewhere warmer, but I tried north carolina and have to admit I missed the seasons, and flew right back home to NJ!
