My Photography - Autumn Leaves

"Every leaf speaks bliss to me,
fluttering from the Autumn tree."
~ Emily Bronte

Fall Leaves blowing 'round on a chill October breeze. This is one of my favorite things in the whole wide world. Interactive performance art, as presented by Mother Nature and Father Time. This colorful Earth Art not only allows us to sit quietly in reverent solitude to reflect on the passing of time, but it also beckons us to reconnect to our inner child and share in nature's frivolity and fun. So steal a few moments this Autumn to do some leaf watching, leaf collecting and leaf jumping! Have a leaf fight with your kids or significant other, and allow yourself time to revel in Autumn's glorious offering to the Earth.

Update: Well I got some fabulous goodies to bring home for my Hallowe'en collection in Salem. We stopped by Laurie Cabot's Witch Shoppe today and she was there in all her glorious witchy splendor. Her store is really wonderful inside. I always stop by when I'm in Salem, and every time, she just happens to be there. I think that's kind of funny and I look forward to it. We left Salem and headed on up here to Vermont. The color is splendid and I am so happy to be enjoying the Autumn this year, even with a quasi-sick family. We are all grateful to be here. We're Going to head to Woodstock, Killington and maybe Stowe tomorrow....and to my post favorite village in New England....Peacham, Vermont!

Lovely photos and lovely colours. We lost a lot of our leaves overnight with a rather bad wind. Shame really as I love running through great big piles of dry leaves with the Littleun kicking them all up!

That is just soooooooo nice. I wish there were as many dead leaves around here, but I think we will have to wait a week or two.

Look at those beautiful kids having so much fun! I'm so glad everyone felt a bit better and you were able to still make this trip!

I'd love to spend some time in NH and Vermont this time of year!

Thanks for the pictures!

I am so pleased you got to go on your trip after all!! And that your daughter is much better.
Thanks for showing us some fantastic fall photos. The leaves here are changing, but no piles of leaves yet. Fall is ahead of us up there.

Nice! We don't get many of those types of leaves down here in Texas, so it's always nice to see these in pictures. Of course, I'm happy to not be tasked with having to rake all those out of my yard too!!!

Absolutely stunning photos, Wens! I'm truly in the Halloween spirit!

When I was a child I used to have horrible nightmares about the Salem Witches...I think stemming from a horror flick at the time...I'm so glad I outgrew that and I think I would love to visit Salem now, one day.

Hope you and your family get over the ickies and have a great time!

Ha! I visited Laurie Cabot's Witch Shoppe too and she was there in her lil' room! She's getting kind of up in her years, no? Gobs of makeup cover her face! Ash just looked in the room at her with a kind of blank look! It was hilarious! I do love her store though and the smell of insense wafting through the air...

I love hearing everyone's account of the leaf status in your lil' corners of the world. In Florida, we have a lot of Oaks, and they lose their leaves in the Spring which feels a bit like fall when it is still cool and the leaves are blowing around. But boy are they a pain to clean up. I sweep my pathways through our 'fern grotto' almost everyday, sometimes 3 times a day trying to keep them clear. But I'd MUCH prefer these leaves like they have up here.

Yeah, Laurie is great. I mean I was just telling my husband how I admire the fact that she has been able to turn something she knows, loves, practices and enjoys into a business that supports her. And yes, she is making lots of $$$ during the month of Oct. We overheard someone inquiring about getting a reading done by her and the guys said it cost $250 for a half hour. WOW! But she takes the entire month of October off. Apparently she takes it off and sits in her little room in her shoppe all day to makes people's pilgrimage worth their while...ha!
