Okay...for those of you who don't know about this...I thought I should bring it to your attention. On Wednesday, Sept. 10th, 2008 in Switzerland, a large scientific instrument called the Large Hadron Collider was switched on. The instrument itself is an experiment that scientists hope will help them finally identify the ever elusive "God Particle" and recreate the "Big Bang Theory", as well as possibly opening up other dimensions in space. It will be months before the atom smashing machine actually reaches full power. And there are opponents of this machine that believe it will begin to create small black holes within the earth's surface that could eventually cause the planet to basically sort of implode on itself in about 4 years; destroying the world as we know it. (Which by the way....just happens to coinside with the end of the Mayan Calender too I might add, but that's a whole other story.)So the question is....what would happen to us if we fell into a BLACK HOLE? Would we DIE? Now that's a stupid question....OF COURSE WE WILL DIE! But the more important question then becomes (at least to some inquiring minds).... what exactly would it be like to die inside a black hole? And that is where I found a fantastic and horrendous story of death that you really must read. Seems that Death by BlackHole is not going to be pretty. I could summarize the end results for you....but I don't want to give away the 'unhappy' ending! I also have to wonder how anyone actually, truly knows what it would be like considering it's never happened to anyone who's lived to tell about it to my knowledge. Let's just hope the doomsayers are completely wrong and the end of the world as we know it is not just around the corner. As that would mean we only have 4 Halloweens left to celebrate. Read it here...it's a quick, easy read, and it will give you something to lay awake at night and ponder. http://www.slate.com/id/2199664/?gt1=38001

Einstein's final quest was to prove that there was a Theory Of Everything (String Theory). Strings are unimaginably small vibrating strands of energy. He was unable to prove it before he passed on.
This video explains it in more detail:

I just watched this video a couple of days ago and did a couple pieces of art related to it. The first one has Gio as Einstein, and the art has the black hole in it. The second one has Riffy solving Bling Theory (a joke) but again, I used a black hole. I worked on the art on September 11, then uploaded it on the 12th (as it went past midnight).
Now what's interesting about Bling Theory, is that there's a nod to you on the chalkboard in Riffy's equation. She writes the fraction:
23
---
1111
+ 33 to the U2 power.
23 is for the movie "23"
1111 is your number
33 is my number
U2 is for the group
ha ha ha
How very odd that we both posted about Black Holes at the same time. Had you been to Gio's page? How could we possibly have so many synchronicities all the time?
Hey Cat,
Ha...no I hadn't been to Gio's page. I was just watching with anxiety on Wed about the collider. It had been on my mind for awhile. Then I saw that article on Death by Black Hole and thought it qualified as a Bizarre Thing to comment on, so I posted it. We just have some strange magical connection that's all I can figure. That's why I say we need to figure out how to combine our powers and take over the world...muwahahah! Will check out the article. And where can I see the Einstein pics of Gio? They sound fab. Oh...and love the equation. 1111...yep that's my number. Still seeing it on an almost daily basis. I will do a post it soon.

Today we are focusing on blackbirds! I just looked up their symbolism (which is weird because I did a piece of art related to music so you'd think I'd do that first) and they can represent temptation.
As with all animal symbolism and dream interpretation one has to ask oneself what a specific thing means to them...therein lies the answer. Blackbirds can mean a number of things, but what do they mean to the creator or author of a piece of art, a song or a poem?
I've seen four of them today. First one flying solo, followed by a pair of two, then another one that flew up into the tree where the Angry Squirrel King lives. Same tree with the red gnome door at the bottom. I think Gnome Doors are where happy people go to keep the crazy people of the world...out.
I have really good associations with blackbirds as my mom used to feed the crows in the backyard. I still feed them sometimes. And I love a good Vulture, who doesn't? Do a post on blackbirds! Ok, no requests... ;)
Random poem I found:
O thin men of Haddam,
Why do you imagine golden birds?
Do you not see how the blackbird
Walks around the feet
Of the women about you?
Hey, cool blog. I love Halloween and autumn, we don't have enough of it. I'll come back to it.
Hmmmm, very interesting that this COULD coincide with the end of the Mayan calendar (which also may coincide with a shift in the earth's magnetic pole). Hey, if the world only has four years left, I guess we need to live it up!
