Well it's a Full Moon tonight! And just in time for 'Witch Week' at the Halloween Tree blog....how fittingly appropriate! This is the Hunter's Moon. But in the Witches' Date Book, they are calling it by a far more ominous sounding name....The Blood Moon! Oooohhh! Sounds kind of scary. Our Pumpkin Carving Party is late tomorrow afternoon and evening. So roasting marshmallows under the big full moon will be lots of fun! What a perfect setting!
The other big event that used to happen on the eves of the Full Moons, was the convening of the 'Coven of the Crescent Moon'! Sounds kind of strange doesn't it....why wouldn't these wild and witchy women have convened their coven on the night of a 'Crescent Moon' since that was their name after all. But all good witches know that the highest energy occurs at the Full Moon, making it the most optimal time for spell work and magic. So it was decided 'many moons' ago....(hee hee....MANY MOONS...get it?) to hold their monthly coven meeting on the night of the Full Moon instead. And thus began the long standing tradition of the sisterhood of the 'Crescent Moon'!
So tonight, in honor of our dearly departed Witchy Ancestresses....we shall raise a toast to all things magical beneath the big Full Moon! Have a Great Weekend Everyone! :o)

I noticed it was the full moon tonight. I always find it spooky. My favourite moon poem: "Ballade à la lune" of Alfred de Musset.
And this year I have so many Cottage things to do. It is going to be wonderful dancing with my ancestors. Enjoy the full moon my friend! - Hugs and sparkles - WG
Waiting on that Full Moon !!!
