Autumn is Bed & Breakfast Season

Ho! for the leaves that eddy down,
Crumpled yellow and withered brown,
Hither and yonder and up the street
And trampled under the passing feet;
Swirling, billowing, drifting by,
With a whisper soft and a rustling sigh,
Starting aloft to windy ways,
Telling the coming of bonfire days.

While in Vermont in the Autumn time...we always go to my favorite town of Woodstock. You'll remember Woodstock as it was mentioned in an earlier post this month about my favorite photo I've ever taken. It was taken there. I have many images from Woodstock, but today I wanted to show you the most quaint and lovely Bed & Breakfast there, called the Ardmore Inn B&B.
When the hubby and I were young and sans children, we always stayed at the most quaint B&B's when we traveled. That made the trips all the more enjoyable and entertaining. But once the chitlins arrived on the scene....well many B&B's just aren't too keen on children, so we don't get to stay in them as often as we'd like anymore.
Last year when we were there in town, the Inn was all decked out for Autumn with cornstalks, hay, mums and pumpkins. The colored leaves were laying all over the yard and the entryway was just so inviting, don't you think? It looked so lovely, and I wanted to check in there and stay for the rest of the month. This is how I'd decorate my home if I lived where the beautiful colored leaves would line my walkways like confetti. {sigh}

Of course Ardmore is just one of many lovely places to dwell in Woodstock, Vermont. And I had another lucky shot in this town last year too, while standing outside shooting images of the B&B's. I saw this great old Classic Pick Up coming in my direction. I've always
wanted one of these trucks as it would be the ultimate photo prop....although I would like mine to be Red or Yellow....but the Orange was fab too, and just perfect for an Autumn shot outside the Charleston House B & B.
Maybe you will be lucky enough to visit a B&B this autumn and enjoy the bounty of the season on display in such a homey and inviting way!

I now have one more thing to put on my wish list. The atmosphere at this B&B is so joyful. I imagine myself walking in the leaves around the B&B delighting in the crunch of the leaves, gazing upon the festive fall colors, and sipping hot, spiced apple cider. These photos really got my senses into a frenzy.

Oh, I want to go. They look so gorgeous and cozy. We have some "pretty" B&B's here in So. Cal, but they lack the history and charm like you have there. I hope you give us a virtual trip when you visit!

These pics really hit the spot for me today! The weather here is crisp and cool (for Texas, that is), and I'm just IN that state of mind! The pics gave me the visuals to go along with the feeling that is in the air! Thanks so much, Wens!

This place seems really lovely, the perfect place to spend a few Autumn nights and to have breakfast on Autumn mornings. I used to like the concept of B&Bs, but after a string of bad experiences, I developed a dislike of them. It is difficult to find the right ones in England (and everywhere?).

This B&B is so beautiful...I want to go there right now! Alas, you and I don't get the beauty of Fall leaves. *sigh* Just a little more cool weather before Halloween and I'll be happy. :-)

Oh you guys and gals are so very nice....thank you for your kind comments! I'm so happy that you all liked them as much as I did. The whole town of Woodstock is incredible. If you ever get a chance to go there...DO IT! But do it in the beginning of October! :o)

That looks just GORGEOUS!

On my wish list of places to go. We're trying to plan a honeymoon, and our wedding is in September, so this might be a nice place to go!
