Happy Autumn Equinox everyone! Hooray...this is a day of celebration for all the Autumn People. You know who you are....we've waited for this day the whole rest of the year and at long last the wheel of time has turned once more to usher in the Autumn for another year.
The Autumnal Equinox is a day when the day and the night are equal, and it is also the first official day of Fall. It is also called Mabon, Harvest Home and Second Harvest Festival. This is the time to give thanks for the harvests of the fields and to reap the fruits of our labors. It is a day to celebrate and reflect...a time to focus on the importance of balance in our lives. This makes it the perfect time of year to focus our attentions inward and gather our energies. In some parts, the weather has grown a bit cooler and it's the perfect time to get outdoors. Perhaps go for a picnic, or gather some apples at the local orchard. Whatever you do...remember to share in the joy of the season with your family and friends and express your gratitude for the gifts of the earth.

Lovely post and gorgeous pictures. I wish it was as colourful here. It is nice, but the trees are not as flamboyant. I love autumn, for me it really starts on the first day of September. I want to do some Autumn activities, like picking apples. I have started yesterday reading horror stories (MR James' to be more precise), to get in the mood of you know which holiday.

So glad everyone enjoyed their Mabon and Autumn Equinox. Wish it were cooler here, but hey it's Florida. It is what it is! And thank you all so much for your feedback. I do love to shoot me some Autumn pics, but I have to go in search of it cause it can't be found here...ha!
