Well the latest Harry Potter movie was fantastic as always. I really love to see how the kids have grown up over the years. What a rare and special treat it is to be able to follow a book series through the same number of movies with the same actors. I asked my children who their favorite character was from the movies. And I told them mine. My 6 year old chose Harry, and my 11 year old chose Dumbledore, which also happens to be my personal favorite as well. Although I do love how well Alan Rickman plays his part as Snape. My husband likes Hagrid. So in the name of of nothing more than plain ole' curiosity....I am taking a completely informal, pseudo-psychological poll to see which Harry Potter character is most favored. So if any of you read this post and have time...I'd love to know who your favorite Harry Potter character is, and if you want to offer up why....even better! And speaking of kid
s growing up....I thought I'd share a photo of my all time favorite vintage Hallowe'en costume. (Some of you will remember this photo from my MS page.) I was but a wee Gypsy Witch in this image of course. But I loved the outfit because my dear Mother fashioned it out of things that were hers. I thought it was cute, and showed ingenuity on her part, to forego the store bought plastic and come up with something of her own. Although honestly, she was probably just being cheap. I do vividly remember wearing this outfit, and hating all that dangling, clanky jewelry. By the time the costume contest was held at the school Hallowe'en carnival....I had taken everything off but the black leotard. Needless to say...she never even got the chance to get me entered, and all her hard work was for not. Good thing we got this one photo to commemorate her efforts...ha!

I do remember that photo from myspace. It's so cute! It's so great to have photos like that. I don't know why, but for whatever reason, I don't have many photos of me dressed up at Halloween. Which is weird, because my grandmother made most of mine. You would think someone would want to have evidence of that. I still have 2 of my costumes from when I was a kid. I'm going to bribe my sister to model them for me so I can take some photos.
On the Harry Potter, I must confess, I haven't been following that trend so much. I read the 4th book, right before I saw the 4th film. And know nothing about it since that point. I like Snape because I think he's 'hot'.
Well your costumes were fab...I love the one with the head above your head! I have one more somewhere of my brother and I...I'm trying to find it to post. You should try to get some photos of someone in the costumes.
I haven't read the Potter books, my daughter has though. I just like the movies. I bet I'd like the books too though! And Snape looks really good in this newest movie...I love his hair!
Love the Potter books and movies! I'm going with the kiddos tonight to check out the latest installment!!
I took a "which Harry Potter character are you" quiz the other day. It said I was the Weasley twins! Yeah, I like that!
Aww what a cute pic! I wish I had a pic of the year I was Fester from The Addams Family. I had a bald cap, my grandpa's coat and my dad's big shoes. Purty silly.
I haven't seen the latest Harry Potter yet. :( Who was the bad guy in the last movie? I didn't like some of the things he did but he sure looked cool! I think they call him "the one who can't be named"?
That would be Lord Voldemort, or "The Dark Lord".
Saw the movie last night with the kiddos. Really enjoyed it! I cannot wait for The Deathly Hallows to hit theaters (they plan to do it as TWO movies! Yay!)
I am a big HP dork and I have read all the books (multiple times...shh don't tell anyone) and I have all the movies. I can't wait to see the newest movie but we need to work a little magic of our own to get some babysitting first. It's funny because I never thought about what character I like best. I really like them all for different reasons I suppose. I guess Hermione is one of my favs if I had to pick...but like I said I really like them all! It is like trying to pick a favorite child, ha ha!
Love the lil gypsy Wens! Ever since I first saw it on MS! Too cute! I should dig up old Halloween costume pictures!
Okay Drac...I like creepy characters, but the Dark Lord is just a bit too creepy for me...ha! I'm a lightweight no doubt. And Gilly...what a fabulous comparison, I love the Weasley twins too. Didn't you just love their shop in this movie? And Suz...you are right, it is hard to pick just one, and you really must find your old Hallowe'en pics and post them. :o)
