Great and Telling Tales

(Last year's Home Goods Hallowe'en Signage)

Hope everyone had a good weekend! I can happily report that Home Goods is just now getting their Hallowe'en merchandise in stock...there were some cool Dia de los Muertos Skulls and vintage looking items, as well as some owls and skeletons...just to name a few things. There wasn't a lot out on Sunday, so I think I'll go back out today and see what I can find. Michael's had a lot more on display too, as well as Old Time Pottery. Also, we just found our first Spirit Store next door to the Michael's on the other side of town....woo hoo! That is an official sign that the Hallowe'en season is under way! The one thing I haven't seen a lot of is Seasonal Magazines on the shelves however...just the Phyllis Hoffman's Autumn and this Hallowe'en Cross Stitch Mag. Last year, some of the mags beat the merchandise out....but not this year. Odd how things change from year to year.
Anyway, I just wanted to leave you with this very short little Hallowe'en video clip titled "Great and Telling Tales of History" that a friend of mine had posted. I especially liked their use of the 'turnip'....have a great week!

Halloween goodies have been out here for a couple weeks - at least at Michael's and a few things at Hobby Lobby. I found them while looking for items for the wedding.
Picked up the Autumn issue of Country Sampler yesterday (kinda disappointed in it) & the end of the year issue of Holiday Crafts (more Christmas than Autumn/Halloween). Will go to B&N today to look for the Cross Stith magazine. I do love to Crossstitch! :0) Thanx for posting about it! :0)
We have been loving our pumpkin. It was such a surprise to have it come up and produce such a lovely pumpkin. :0)

Yup, I love the turnip too. I just have to go poking around my favourite stores and see what is there.

Here there are no Halloween decorations on sale yet (the Christmas ones might show up before, as early as September), but it is the weather that looks and feels autumnal. It puts me in the mood to read horror stories instead of my usual crime fiction. The earliest Halloween decoration I saw was a Jack O'Lantern in a stationary shop in the Vieux-Montréal, on display in August:

I had seen in Montreal Halloween displays and merchandise in early September usually, straight after the beginning of school.

Oh and I loved the animation in that short movie.
