While on the subject of Witches and Magic, I thought I'd post one of this month's Color Collage Boards. (To view past Color Collage Boards just look through the back posts for any with "What Color is ________" in the title.)
Mysticism and Magic! Just the words themselves conjure up fantastical images in my mind! Spells and potions and magical notions. Ancient knowledge, tarot and ruins! And Hallowe'en to me, is a most 'magical' holiday! So What Color IS Mysticism and Magic? You may have different ideas altogether and I'd love to know what you envision. But for me, Purple is the most magical color. Purple is touted as the color of the mind, creativity, change and yes, mysticism. It is also said to aid in clairvoyance and psychic powers. Guess that's why it's my favorite color and why it's the color I associate with Mysticism and Magic! What colors are 'magical' for you?

When I think of magic I think of purple and black. Those two colors together conjure up images of spells, potions and the witching hour. Purple is a very sacred color and I use to visualize a magic cirlce of protection when needed.
In the past few years I've become very partial to certain greens...very calming. And I love certain shades of purple and green together, but I'd have to agree with you about purple and mysticism/magic. No other colour, except black of course, seems right.
Strange, I thought exactly the same thing, even before reading the blog: purple is the colour of mysticism and magic.

Yes, a great collage of purple. The owl stood owl for me the most and I like the shadowy figures of the witches also.
Purple is a great color as it represents the crown chakra and I've had amazing calm and peace during high stress times when I work with the violet flame. Purple to me means incredible positive vibrations and so therefore, yes magic happens when working with purple. I really feel purple is a very spiritual color for myself.
As for mysticism I will have to go with the color blue. Deep colors of blue and even in the lighter color of blue such as in the lapis lazuli mineral/stone. It is the color Egyptians used in the Eye of Horace jewelry and perhaps this is why it is associated with the Third Eye Chakra and working with one's own psychic abilities. I have this stone, and when I hold it I feel that it is a very mystical stone and it's one of my favorites.
Red holds the power for the FQ - I know you would think it was green....or black or white for me....but red. Just like my hair. I think it is partly because as a child I so wanted to not be a red head that I have truly come around and learned to embrace with is mine. At least that is the story I am telling today! :D

Purple always springs to mind, I don't know if it's because of the stereotypical wizard with purple robes or what.
Green seems magical to me somehow too. Especially bright lime green.
