October Is Finally Here - Autumn Around the Globe

Hooray! October is here at last! The most glorious month of the year has returned in all its splendor. And today marks the first official day of the 2011 Hallowe'en Countdown! Woo Hoo!

As if by karmic fate...the first day of October was ushered in with an approaching cold front down here in Florida! That's why I love you so October, you always bring such welcome gifts with you when you return. Cooler temps, changing leaves, apples and pumpkins and scarecrows in the fields! The temps this morning were cooler and comfortable, but they are supposed to be even better tomorrow. And I am busy, like those frisky squirrels in my yard...preparing for an upcoming trip to New England. Let's see.....just how many hats, scarves and coats can I cram into one suitcase and it still not be over the weight limit?

So on this first day of the countdown, I wanted to share something I found on-line. These images are NOT mine, in fact I don't know whose they are, because they are from a slide show in an MSN news story about Fall, and they had no copyright info. But basically they show images of Autumn from around the US and the World. And I thought, what a fab way to start off the Halloween Countdown and the month of October on the world wide web....by looking at images of Autumn around the Globe. This is how one could theoretically live in Perpetual Autumn...just follow the season as it winds around the globe! I would SO do that, if only I could! Would you?

Here's looking forward to spending a crazy, hectic, fun, spooky, frighteningly fabulous Hallowe'en Month with all you Hallowe'en Heads! :o)

We all have Halloween in hearts this day. As soon as we can October 1s the pumpkins are out and the apples are baked into pies. The images from around the globe were pretty amazing!

Yep. If I could I would follow Autumn around the globe. Day time wear = pair of well worn jeans and colourful wool sweaters. Night time wear = a wand and colourful costumes of every kind!

Weather here unseasonably balmy due to Hurricane Ophelia tracking our way.

What a beautiful slideshow! I love the picture of Bavaria with the castle. I've always loved Neuschwanstein.

Happy October indeed! And as it begins, we are about to be presented with a cold front coming through Southern California including wind & rain. An autumn week lies ahead. It makes me a bit excited to think about snuggling under covers with a hot toddy and a good Halloween flick on the tele' ~ something Vincent Price-ish.

Loved the slideshow. It was nice to take in all the ornamental colors of fall xo
