Death By Chocolate

If you're looking for something deliciously macabre...give these Mori Ex Cacao chocolate skulls a try this Halloween. They were designed by Douglas Little of D.L. & Company Modern Alchemists and Purveyors of Curious Goods. http://www.dlcompany.com. They come in a pack of 3 (1 Dark, 1 Milk, 1 White) with flavors like 'Scorched Caramel', 'Bitter Brandied Cherry' and the most intriguing one, 'Curious Chili'. Listen to it's description...."An eccentric array of chilies and spices are combined with the deepest chocolate, into an exotic and exciting sensation, with a heat that lingers long after the chocolate is gone. An extraordinary experience." Yummers! But chocolate skulls this decadent don't come cheap, so be prepared to shell out for the experience of chomping on one. $65 for a set of 3, or $25 for the flavor of your choice. These were available last year at both Valeries Confections and Dean & Deluca. And in case you missed the tongue in cheek name of these post mortem delicacies...Mori Ex Cacao means Death By Chocolate! No sweeter way to go!

Hey, you can make you own Chocolate Skulls!
Since I love Halloween so much it's only natural that I should take an interest in Dia de los Muerto.
www.mexicansugarskull.com has sugar & chocolate skull molds, as well as other Day of the Dead items. Worth checking out.

Belle...AGAIN we are on the same wave length. When I was looking at this chocolate site last week, I went searching for skull candy molds and found some sights with them on it for Dia de Los Muerto. Then a friend of mine wrote me an email at the exact same time to tell me about how she used to make them with her Mom for that celebration when she was young. And she had no idea that I was just looking at them. I love how synchronicty works. I wish we had Dia de Los Muerto celebrations here.

Yeah, me too. Or I wish I could afford to take a trip to Mexico one year.

I thought Mori Ex Cacao was Death by Caca or something. Hahahahaha. J/K

These are impressive. Visually and dollarwise. Sheesh. I don't think either of us are going to be rushing out and getting a case of these for a Halloween party.
