Fiendish Finds from Bath & Body Works via Halloween Addict

Okay....just doing a quick re-post from the HalloweenAddict.com blog because I have a lot of female followers that might be interested. If you are not already a follower of the HalloweenAddict blog, (which I really can't imagine that many followers of my blog, are not already followers of that blog) then you must check him out. All Hallows Steve always has the latest Halloween news. And today he is reporting that Bath and Body Works has just unveiled their 2011 Halloween Collection....woohoo! Any Halloween is good Halloween in my book....and even better when it smells like Sweet Cinnamon Pumpkin. I'm not going to go into great detail, because you can read all about it on his blog. And then you can check out the offerings for yourself on the Bath & Body Works website. If I had to pick my favorite items at a glance, I think I'd go with the Purple Skull Soap Dispenser and the Black Bat Pocketbac Holder. And in case you are wondering what that is....it's a little rubber holder that you put your pocket sized anti-bacterial gel in, and then you can strap it around whatever you're carrying, like a backpack or purse. This allows quick and easy access to it without having to dig around for it. I have several and I love them, but me thinks this spooky cute little black bat would look perfect flying around on my purse. Happy Hump Day everyone!

Bloody Good Perfume???

Well just when you think you've seen it all, something comes along to prove you wrong. Let me preface this with the caveat that I love Halloween...I do! And I like many many of the stereotypical things associated with Halloween. But there are a few that I just cannot embrace, no matter how hard I may try. And frankly, I haven't tried, but so what! The two things that I really dislike the most would have to be SPIDERS and BLOOD! Okay....there you have it, I confess. Call me a wuss, call me a Halloween-Lite if you will, but I just cannot stomach them! But none-the-less, this post is going to be about blood....sort of.

Not only do I detest the sight and smell of blood, but I absolutely hate, despise, and abhor.....the taste of it. Needless to say, I could NEVER be a Vampire, an EMT, Emergency Room or Blood Bank worker. Likewise, I could never perform or partake in any blood rituals or spells, and I positively cannot...put a pricked or cut finger into my mouth to stop the bleeding. In fact, if my gum bleeds just a little from flossing my teeth too hard...I feel like I will heave from the taste of just a tiny bit in my mouth. There is absolutely nothing that appeals to me about the life giving fluid that pumps through our veins, other than the main fact that it's what helps to keep me alive.

Hmmm....but then I read this..... "Filled with legends and meanings, blood is soaked with mystery‚ fascination and respect. It’s the most tested and studied part of the human body and it guards a multitude of secrets that reveals our inner and unique way of being."

"BLOOD CONCEPT is a private celebration of the vivid and fascinating liquid that flows in our veins. Because blood is actually the river of life." So along comes the newest gimmick? concept in the world of Perfume....Blood Concept Fragrance. Yep, I guess it was just a matter of time, but they now have a perfume based on the concept of blood and blood types. My blood type is A+, so therefore I would wear Type A perfume to theoretically get some mystical benefit from having this fragrance meld and fuse with my own blood in some kind of visceral molecular ceremony. But what if I don't like the notes of tomato leaves, basil and anise that are found in my blood type perfume? Because honestly, I would prefer the black cherry, pomegranate and patchouli notes of the Type B. No problem, you can technically wear any of the Blood Types of course, you just might not get the same hypothetical benefits from sporting a differing Type. However, the big question on everyone's mind still remains......does this stuff actually contain blood or blood notes in it? And the answer is NO....because it is actually illegal to sell products with real human blood in them, or so I've read. So then it begs the follow up question....does it still appeal to you? Will the 'True Blood' / 'Twilight' / 'Anne Rice' fans still be interested without some real blood in there somewhere? What about the bottle; designed to look like a dropper with blood in it? Does that appeal enough to entice you to wear Blood Type Perfume? For me probably not. But if you're interested, you can check out the Blood Concept Fragrance website. Poison for a Magic Night

I love succulent descriptions full of adjectives that help conjure up vivid visuals in my mind's eye. And I love names that evoke mystery, magic and intrigue. I want my curiosity to be peaked to the point that I simply cannot resist "not knowing" a moment longer. I also unabashedly admit to having a perfume fetish. I could spend hours at a fragrance counter smelling every last offering they have. So I went in search of some new scents to wear. I was looking for something witchy and dark....something heady and sensual!

Here are 3 scents that caught my eye strictly for their bewitchingly captivating names and descriptions. First up is one I already have in my arsenal, though admittedly not frequently used..."Midnight Poison". I like the idea of anything with the word 'midnight' in it...for Midnight is the witching hour! Next, I found an old classic that I have actually never smelled, but intend to now..."Magie Noir". French for Magic Night....and that name alone arouses my interest. And lastly is the one that I am MOST eager to try, because the name is actually a screen name I frequently use...and that one is "Magical Moon"! And if it smells as good as it's name...it will be my signature scent from now on! All of these scents are sure to cast a wicked spell and would be perfectly worn in the Autumn and in the Dead of Night! Two more honorable mentions in the naming category are "Halloween" and "Black Widow" perfumes. These last two may not be as easy to find, but the names are downright nefarious, don't you agree?
